Positions
A position names where something hangs, in the words your crew uses on the day. Positions travel out to other MVR tools with the plan.
Front truss, SL boom, FOH: positions usually come from whoever drew the plan, and an MVR import brings them along. A position is not a group. It says where something is rigged, not that you want to select it together (see Groups).
Add one with + Add position, and rename it by double-clicking.
Assign by selecting objects and clicking the arrow on a position's row. An object is on at most one position, so assigning it to another simply moves it there.
Fixtures and truss can be on a position; set pieces cannot, because MVR has no way to say so. Select a mixed lot and the panel assigns what it can and shows how many it skipped.
Remove from position takes the selection off its position, and asks first. It does not remove anything from the scene: the fixtures stay exactly where they are. Undo puts the position back.
Delete a position with the × on its row and confirm with sure?. Unlike a layer, a position can be deleted while things are on it. What goes is the name for that place, not the lights.
Select everything on a position by clicking its row, or right-click a fixture in Plan and choose Select position. A plain click on a fixture still selects just that fixture.
