The Explorer
The Explorer is the one place where projects and scenes are opened and created. It works like a file explorer: the organisation is the drive, projects are folders, scenes are files.
Signing in opens the editor on the scene you had open last, with the Explorer on top. Close the Explorer and you are straight back at work. Open it again at any time with File › Explorer…, Ctrl+O, or a click on the flexViz logo. Somebody with no scene yet gets the Explorer on its own.
The drop-down at the top left is the drive. It lists each organisation you belong to and, if anybody has made you a guest on one of their projects, Shared with you. Below it, the tree shows that drive's projects and their scenes.
Selecting a scene is not opening it. A click selects it and shows its details on the right: picture, area, description, who changed it last, and whether it is locked. Open scene, Enter or a double-click opens it, after saving the scene you were in.
+ New scene creates a scene in the chosen project and opens it at once. + New project creates a project in the organisation chosen in the drop-down. It is greyed out under Shared with you, because a guest cannot create projects there.
Search narrows the tree by name. A project's name shows all its scenes; a scene's name shows just that scene. Case and accents do not matter. The Explorer finds projects by name only.
Files shows everything the project holds: imports, exports, logs. Nothing on that tab opens a scene. See Logs and files.
Scene and project details
A scene's picture refreshes by itself when the scene is saved, at most every few minutes. Its fixture count and universes come from the scene and cannot be typed in. Area and Description can be edited beside the list, even on a locked scene.
A project's client, status, lead, tags and dates are under File › Project settings… › Details in the editor. Status is a label; it locks nothing.
Locking and deleting
Administrators can lock a scene beside the list. A locked scene opens read-only for everybody until an administrator unlocks it. See Why is the editor read-only?.
Delete scene and Delete project are here too, and both ask first. The scene you have open, and the project holding it, cannot be deleted from inside it: open another scene first. A scene with a released version is kept and cannot be deleted.
Old links to a project still work: they open the editor with the Explorer on that project.
