Plan checks

Movement clearance

Two moving heads hung too close together hit each other the first time they tilt. FlexViz warns about that in the plan, and says how far to move one of them.

What is reported

May hit Sharpy 04 when tilting — 0.08 m too close, slide it along the truss.

Two heads too close on the front truss

The message says how far and which way. Two fixtures on the same truss can only slide along it, so the fix is one distance in one direction. Anywhere else it says move them apart.

How it is worked out

  • From the fixture's own model. FlexViz takes how far the head reaches when it tilts and sweeps that around the pan axis. That gives a cylinder around each fixture, and the warning means two cylinders overlap.

  • Height counts. Two fixtures on trusses at different trims do not warn, even though they overlap seen from above.

  • Fixtures without a model get a generous stand-in for their type, so every fixture is checked. Real GDTF geometry is more accurate; the stand-in for a PAR is a rough guess that errs wide.

The clearance margin

On top of the fixtures' geometry, the project asks for working room between them: the fixture clearance margin in Project settings › General. It runs from 0 to 0.5 m and starts at 0.10 m, added once per pair.

At 0, only fixtures that would actually touch are reported, which is tighter than anyone rigs. Raise it to match how your crew hangs.

The same truss with the margin at 0: no warning

Fixing it

Slide one of the two along the truss by the distance in the message. ⚠ While Truss snap is on, a mounted fixture is not moved on its own: dragging it moves the whole truss it hangs on. Turn Truss snap off, drag the fixture, and turn it on again. Mind the drop distance, so it stays on the truss.

Geometry, not a safety check

The warning reports that two envelopes intersect. It does not say a rig is safe, and it adds nothing for clamps, safeties or other rigging hardware. A clear panel is not a sign-off.
