Work together
FlexViz is built for a lighting team, not one person at one desk. This section explains who can reach what, who can change it, and how several people work on one scene.
The short version
- Organisation
- Your standing team. Everyone in it reaches every project in it. One account can belong to several. See Organisations
- Role
- What somebody may do in the organisation: an owner or admin invites, removes and shares; a member works. See Collab seats and roles
- Collab seat
- Whether somebody may edit scenes. Without a seat, everyone, admins included, opens scenes read-only. See Collab seats and roles
- Project
- A show. Its scenes, files and versions live in it, and it is the boundary of access. See Who can reach a project
If somebody "can't edit", it is nearly always the seat. The role and the seat are separate on purpose, and an admin without a seat administers but cannot change a scene. The line under the editor's header always says why a scene is read-only; see Why is the editor read-only?.
Clients are not part of any of this. To show a scene to somebody outside your organisation, share it; see Share and present.
