What FlexViz does not do
FlexViz plans and previews. Here is what it deliberately leaves to other people and other tools, stated plainly rather than in a licence.
No loads, no structural verdicts
FlexViz says nothing about loads, weights or structural adequacy, or about whether a rig can be built as drawn. There is no total weight, no centre of gravity, no motor loads and no load heatmap, and none is planned.
That is a product decision, not a missing feature. A tool that showed a rig "green" would invite somebody to build on it, and a disclaimer is not much of an answer when it comes down. Rigging load belongs to a qualified person with the manufacturer's load tables.
What FlexViz does check is the plan itself: patch clashes, undeclared universes, fixtures hanging on nothing, heads that would hit the truss. Those are facts about the drawing, not verdicts about the steel; see Plan checks.
A plan also does not draw clamps, safeties or chain shorteners. That is trade convention: nobody reading a plot expects them, and their absence assumes nothing.
No cues
A look is a state of the rig, recalled in one click. There are no fades, no follows, no chases, no timing and no tracking, and a cue list is not planned. FlexViz is not a console and does not replace one. To see real programming, connect your desk through the Bridge; FlexViz shows what the desk sends.
No physically exact light
The renderer is built to be plausible and consistent: beams, gobos, zoom, frost and haze respond the way a designer expects. It is not a photometric calculation. Do not take illuminance figures, exact colour rendering or a measured diffusion filter from it.
Not yet
These are not in FlexViz today. Do not plan a show around them:
Bases, adapters, sleeve blocks, box corners, towers and tubes in the truss library.
Scale and Orbit tools (the buttons are there and say so).
Live editing for every organisation: it is switched on per organisation during the beta; see Editing together, live.
Saving a look from what a live desk is holding.
